THE FOOTLOOSE SYNDICATE

The first of the Australian Brumby sponsors have come on board. The "FOOTLOOSE" syndicate (Inset) from Tasmania consisting of Rob De Soza, Carol Ferguson and Cathryn White.

The Syndicate have adopted a coloured Brumby mare in the Carnarvon Ranges of Central Queensland. They have called the mare "Footloose" and her foal "Littlefoot".

Photos of Footloose and her band will be posted on this site towards the end of May 2009.

Footloose will have a GPS collar fitted in May and we will retrieve the collar in 6 months just before she foals again.

The batteries will be renewed and data downloaded in November 2008 after which she will be released again.

The impact of her new born foal will be captured to determine the impact made by the arrival of the new foal on her activity (It is anticipated to have very little).

Rob, Carol and Cathryn share a love for horses and attempt to keep them in as natural an environment as possible.

Congratulation to the "FOOTLOOSE" syndicate for supporting this research. The equine community has been asking for this type of research for years now and here is an example of 3 people who are willing to help make it happen.
