I am currently undertaking a part time PhD looking at owner adaptive management of unshod domesticated horses in the UK. I am tracking a group of case studies over a period of two years gathering data on feed, exercise, specific hoof care, medication, lameness (if present) and environment along with documenting and evaluating the hooves.
The project does not focus on any one specific method of trimming, rather is concerned with the owner management aspects.

I have a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Land and Water) and am currently studying a Master of Natural Resource Management - I am also a horse owner. I am very interested in this study, and would be very interested to see this data compared with environmental data from the same areas (weed dispersal? biodiversity?) perhaps there is an opportunity in the future for joint projects
