Australian Equine Science Symposium on the Gold Coast
|
||
We presented a lecture and a poster at the Australian Equine Science Symposium on the Gold Coast in early June and have just returned from Europe after presenting at the 6th International Conference of Equine Locomotion in France. Some of the information presented in these presentations is attached as posters. It is time now to do some more article writing and prepare for the trip to Central Australia in July/August to track some of the desert Brumbies. We are looking for sponsors for these Brumby collars. So if anyone would like to sponsor one of these very long-range horses, get in contact over the next few weeks. These could be the champion long distance horses. We collared 5 horses in June in Central Queensland and still have collars on 2 horses out there now. Some preliminary results for Brumby GPS tracking will be released soon. Their watering patterns and the excessive movement of the young colts tailing mares and harem colts protecting mares are very interesting. For those interested in the Brumby feet, we are just finalising a presentation for September and will release these results straight after the conference. So not too long to wait now for some great photos and anatomy data. Cheers, The Brumby Research Team |
